Dance Training: |
| |
Born in Poland from Romany Gypsy descent, Nigma felt a passion for music, dance and the exotic world. At the age of 6 began she her dance training in Classical Ballet and the Character Dance (World Folklore). During the next 8 years she was part of "The Culture Palace Choir and Dance Troupe” which represented Poland at European Festivals of young artists all over the world. At those festivals she came in contact with the fascinating diversity of world folklore. She felt especially attracted to the exotic oriental of Turkey, Balkan and Arab countries, west Asia, such as Armenia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, etc. She also discovered the magic of Flamenco dance thanks to Carlos Saura films and, after a spell of Flamenco studies in London, moved to Spain. This art form showed her the way towards one of its origins: Middle Eastern Music and Dance and Nigma but decided to specialize in it. |
